Samuel Imerman

Samuel Imerman has been involved in the management and development of various businesses for more than three decades.
In 1974 he purchased a small chemical broking business in Johannesburg which prospered and grew to become Lovasz Chemicals Limited, a leading South African chemical trading company. The company was listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in 1987. Subsequent to the listing the focus of the company changed after the acquisition of a number of food manufacturing businesses. In 1993 the company, together with Anglo American Corporation Ltd, purchased control of Del Monte Foods U.K. and Del Monte Foods International which retained the right to the Del Monte brand in the United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East, Africa and South East Asia. Samuel remained an executive director of the expanded group until the controlling interest was disposed of in 2001. Since then Samuel has been engaged in managing family investments.
